Gas-Shielded Arc Welding
Gas-shielded welding is a welding method that uses carbon dioxide or argon gas for protection, employing a welding wire instead of an electrode. CO₂ welding offers high efficiency, while argon-protected welding is primarily used for materials like aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel.
Utilizing robotic gas-shielded welding enables a welding process characterized by high precision, speed, stability, and repeatability. It reduces defects such as spatter, deformation, and cracks, thereby improving product quality and consistency. Robotic gas-shielded welding can adapt to the welding requirements of various complex spatial positions and orientations, allowing for safe and effective operation in confined or hazardous environments.
In contrast, manual gas-shielded welding is constrained by spatial limitations and safety risks, making it difficult to complete welding tasks with special shapes or positions. It also faces issues such as radiation damage from arc light, harmful gases and fumes generated around the arc, and accident risks from arc sparks. Therefore, using robots for gas-shielded welding represents a more advanced, safer, and more efficient welding technology.

01 CNGBS Gas-Shielded Welding Workstation
A gas-shielded robotic welding workstation is an intelligent solution that utilizes robotics technology to achieve automated gas-shielded welding. Gas-shielded arc welding is a method that uses inert or active gases to protect the arc and molten pool, commonly used for joining metals such as steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.

The CNGBS Gas-Shielded Welding Workstation mainly consists of the following components:
Gas-Shielded Welding Power Source: Provides stable DC voltage and current, adjusting parameters such as finishing current, finishing voltage, and thrust.
Wire Feeder: Drives the wire feed motor to deliver welding wire from the wire spool to the welding torch, regulating wire feed speed and enabling jog quick feed.
Welding Torch: A device mounted on the robot wrist for outputting the arc and feeding the filler metal wire and shielding gas. Depending on process requirements, different types and specifications of torches can be selected, such as MIG/MAG or TIG torches.
Gas Flow Meter: Heats, reduces pressure, and regulates the flow of CO₂ or mixed gas, enabling effective protection of the molten pool and droplet.
Gas Cylinder: Stores CO₂ or mixed gas, providing sufficient pressure and capacity.
Control System: A system used to control the operational status of the entire workstation and coordinate actions between components, typically consisting of a control cabinet, operator panel (e.g., KUKA smartPAD), sensors, etc. The control system monitors and adjusts various workstation parameters (like speed, position, temperature) to ensure tasks are completed safely and stably.
Positioner: A device for adjusting the position and orientation of the workpiece relative to the robot. It enhances the robot's adaptability to workpieces with complex shapes, increasing production efficiency and quality. Positioning devices can be categorized as standard or custom, with common forms including turntables, slides, and rotary tables.
Safety Fencing: Industrial robot safety fencing is equipment used to protect both the robots and operators. It prevents the robot's range of motion from exceeding preset areas and stops personnel from entering hazardous zones.
Torch Cleaning Station (TCP): A device that periodically or as needed performs cleaning, anti-spatter spray application, and wire cutting on the welding torch during the welding process. This ensures the torch functions properly and improves weld seam quality.
